Years ago, Taylor and I went to high school together and graduated in the same class. When I saw that she proposed to Jaclyn in Europe, I immediately reached out, knowing that they would be the perfect adventurous couple for Elliot and I’s photography style. Taylor and I chatted back and forth on different location ideas for their engagement session. I mentioned that we would be in Yosemite this June, photographing a elopement. I told her how Yosemite takes our breath away, and how peaceful and serene the environment is. Her and Jaclyn had never been before and instantly agreed to have a Yosemite engagement session.
When we arrived at Yosemite, it was not as we remembered from the last time we were there. It was Father’s Day weekend and the traffic was insane! It was the most busy we have ever seen the park. We had to walk about a mile in the valley toward Jaclyn and Taylor in a line of stopped traffic and hop in their car. Elliot said, “Well guys, welcome to Yosemite!” The four of us were laughing so hard, realizing it was one of the busiest days of the year in the park. We all drove up to Glacier Point and parked the car.
First, photographed on a trail in the high woods. About 25 minutes in, Jaclyn got down on one Knee and pulled out a beautiful blue Tiffany’s box, with a surprise ring inside for Taylor. We were all in shock! The moment could not have been any more perfect.
The second and final location we photographed them, was Glacier Point. We took them to an overlook spot and the sunset lighting over the landscape was epic! It was a perfect spot for their Yosemite engagement session and quite an adventure we will forever remember.
We are so happy for Taylor and Jaclyn and all their life adventures to come! Above all, Elliot and I can’t wait for them to get married next year. They will both be such beautiful brides! This Yosemite engagement session was one to remember!
