Background
My husband Elliot and I are a DFW wedding photographer team. Coincidentally enough, Mackenzie’s older sister, Amanda, was one of my close friends growing up. We all went to high school together. As a result, it makes me feel quite old thinking about the fact that Mackenzie is now getting married. In addition, we all used to dress up and dance around their parents house together as little teenage girls. Time really does fly in this world! Amanda gifted Mackenzie this engagement session with us and we are so thrilled to be able to capture such a special time in her life.
Photographing in Downtown Dallas
Elliot and I met Mackenzie and her fiancé, Andrew in downtown Dallas to capture their engagement session. We began wandering around the streets and finding unique places with visual character. When dealing with a busy city, it is quite the challenge to work around all the madness, but that is what the fun is all about at the end of the day.
After roaming the streets together, we got in the car and drove to a parking garage just a few miles away. In addition, these two love birds brought some champagne to celebrate with an epic city view toast. They popped the champagne and it completely exploded in their faces. We were all laughing so hard and it made for some super memorable and authentic photos. It was our first time photographing at this specific parking garage and we had such a blast working with the 360 city views.
By the end of their engagement session, they were smiling ear to ear and we were all having such a blast enjoying the last bit of light for the evening. They will be getting married next year in Banff, Canada and we know there wedding will be a complete dream. It was so great to see Mackenzie and to meet her future husband. We wish them all the love in the world.
