This winter white Adolphus Hotel Dallas wedding was everything and more. As seen in Brides of North Texas as well as DWeddings. From the all white bridesmaids dresses, to Diana’s beautiful orchid bouquet by Something Pretty Floral, to her bridal hair and make up by The Styling Stewardess, the attention to detail was perfection. Her dress from Bridal Boutique is absolutely stunning. The planning is by Engaged Events and the ceremony takes place at SMU Perkins Chapel and the reception venue is inside of the Adolphus Hotel.
SMU Perkins Chapel Ceremony
SMU Perkins Chapel set the stage for a classy and sophisticated wedding ceremony. Located on the Southern Methodist University campus, this iconic chapel is a perfect choice for an elegant wedding. The building was inspired by an old New England Style church and has been around for 48 years. The interior of the Chapel is bright and white with a long center aisle. This makes it ideal for a traditional wedding ceremony. Many may not know this, but you do not have to be a part of SMU alumni in order to fit the standards to have a wedding ceremony there. The process to secure a spot is lengthy and competitive which means that they go very fast.
The Bride and Groom
Diana and Matt both attended SMU during their college careers. I believe the biggest reason that they chose this specific chapel was due to the tone it set for the colors and theme of their wedding. Everything was all white, from Diana’s dress to the bridesmaids dresses to the floral arrangements. The chapel was fitting for her elegant and timeless vision.
Diana and Matt were so wonderful to work with together as a couple. They are fun loving and their day is full with so much happiness and laughter. With the wedding having taken place in January, we ended up having an extremely chilly day outside in downtown Dallas. The entire wedding party braved the weather like champions though.
The architecture of the exterior of the building made it a perfect spot to take bridal party photos as well as groomsmen photos. We chose the stone stairs for the majority of group photos of the girls. Consequently, there was very soft light and a decently large number of bridesmaids. For the boys, we stuck with the initial exit area of the church, with the large pillars beaming behind them. As a result, we captured a more masculine feel.
After the ceremony, the wedding party and guests headed over to the Adolphus for the cocktail hour and reception. In addition, we had the chance to venture around the historic hotel with Diana and Matt and grab some awesome photos.
Historic Hotels in Dallas
Here is a little information about the Adolphus hotel. Two minutes from the Arts District, it’s one of the top places to have a wedding reception in downtown Dallas. Built in 1912, this luxury hotels beaux arts style architecture exudes perfection. Therefore, people from all over come to see it. The Adolphus hotel has been named one of the top ten historic hotels in Dallas and the United States. We love the character of this hotel more than the Belmont hotel, Magnolia hotel, and the Warwick Melrose.
The Adolphus Hotel Dallas Wedding Reception
When we arrived at the reception area it was magnificent and super photogenic. As photographers, the reception room had perfect lighting. While the guests enjoyed cocktail hour we ventured with Diana and Matt up to the 19th floor and into the Century room for some epic photos.
As the night started to wind down, Diana and Matt got sent off with a sparkler exit. Their love shined bright as they were all smiles walking down to exit. In the end it was totally worth it for some amazing pictures and memories that will last them a lifetime. This Adolphus Hotel wedding is one you don’t want to miss!
